³Ê´Â ¾ÇÀÎÀÇ ÇüÅëÀ» ºÎ·¯¿öÇÏÁö ¸»¸ç ±×¿Í ÇÔ²² Àֱ⵵ ¿øÇÏÁö ¸»Áö¾î´Ù

Do not envy wicked men, do not desire their company;

±×µéÀÇ ¸¶À½Àº °­Æ÷¸¦ Ç°°í ±× ÀÔ¼úÀº ÀÜÇظ¦ ¸»ÇÔÀ̴϶ó

for their hearts plot violence, and their lips talk about making trouble.

ÁýÀº ÁöÇý·Î ¸»¹Ì¾Ï¾Æ °ÇÃàµÇ°í ¸íö·Î ¸»¹Ì¾Ï¾Æ °ß°íÈ÷ µÇ¸ç

By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;

¶Ç ¹æµéÀº Áö½ÄÀ¸·Î ¸»¹Ì¾Ï¾Æ °¢Á¾ ±ÍÇÏ°í ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î º¸¹è·Î ä¿ì°Ô µÇ´À´Ï¶ó

through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.

ÁöÇý ÀÖ´Â ÀÚ´Â °­ÇÏ°í Áö½Ä ÀÖ´Â ÀÚ´Â ÈûÀ» ´õÇϳª´Ï

A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength;

³Ê´Â ¸ð·«À¸·Î ½Î¿ì¶ó ½Â¸®´Â ¸ð»ç°¡ ¸¹À½¿¡ ÀÖ´À´Ï¶ó

for waging war you need guidance, and for victory many advisers.

ÁöÇý´Â ³Ê¹« ³ô¾Æ¼­ ¹Ì·ÃÇÑ ÀÚÀÇ ¹ÌÄ¡Áö ¸øÇÒ °ÍÀ̹ǷΠ±×´Â ¼º¹®¿¡¼­ ÀÔÀ» ¿­Áö ¸øÇÏ´À´Ï¶ó

Wisdom is too high for a fool; in the assembly at the gate he has nothing to say.

¾ÇÀ» ÇàÇϱ⸦ ²ÒÇÏ´Â ÀÚ¸¦ ÀÏÄÃ¾î »çƯÇÑ ÀÚ¶ó ÇÏ´À´Ï¶ó

He who plots evil will be known as a schemer.

¹Ì·ÃÇÑ ÀÚÀÇ »ý°¢Àº ÁË¿ä °Å¸¸ÇÑ ÀÚ´Â »ç¶÷ÀÇ ¹Ì¿òÀ» ¹Þ´À´Ï¶ó

The schemes of folly are sin, and men detest a mocker.

³×°¡ ¸¸ÀÏ È¯³­³¯¿¡ ³«´ãÇÏ¸é ³× ÈûÀÇ ¹Ì¾àÇÔÀ» º¸ÀÓÀ̴϶ó

If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength!

³Ê´Â »ç¸ÁÀ¸·Î ²ø·Á°¡´Â ÀÚ¸¦ °ÇÁ®ÁÖ¸ç »ì·úÀ» ´çÇÏ°Ô µÈ ÀÚ¸¦ ±¸¿øÇÏÁö ¾Æ´ÏÄ¡ ¸»¶ó

Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.

³×°¡ ¸»Çϱ⸦ ³ª´Â ±×°ÍÀ» ¾ËÁö ¸øÇÏ¿´³ë¶ó ÇÒÁö¶óµµ ¸¶À½À» Àú¿ïÁú ÇϽô ÀÌ°¡ ¾îÂî ÅëÂûÇÏÁö ¸øÇϽðÚÀ¸¸ç ³× ¿µÈ¥À» ÁöÅ°½Ã´Â ÀÌ°¡ ¾îÂî ¾ËÁö ¸øÇϽðڴÀ³Ä ±×°¡ °¢ »ç¶÷ÀÇ ÇàÀ§´ë·Î º¸ÁõÇϽø®¶ó

If you say, "But we knew nothing about this," does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay each person according to what he has done?

³» ¾Æµé¾Æ ²ÜÀ» ¸ÔÀ¸¶ó ÀÌ°ÍÀÌ ÁÁÀ¸´Ï¶ó ¼ÛÀ̲ÜÀ» ¸ÔÀ¸¶ó ÀÌ°ÍÀÌ ³× ÀÔ¿¡ ´Ù´Ï¶ó

Eat honey, my son, for it is good; honey from the comb is sweet to your taste.

ÁöÇý°¡ ³× ¿µÈ¥¿¡°Ô ÀÌ¿Í °°Àº ÁÙÀ» ¾Ë¶ó ÀÌ°ÍÀ» ¾òÀ¸¸é Á¤³çÈ÷ ³× Àå·¡°¡ ÀÖ°Ú°í ³× ¼Ò¸ÁÀÌ ²÷¾îÁöÁö ¾Æ´ÏÇϸ®¶ó

Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.

¾ÇÇÑ ÀÚ¿© ÀÇÀÎÀÇ ÁýÀ» ¿³º¸Áö ¸»¸ç ±× ½¬´Â ó¼Ò¸¦ ÇæÁö ¸»Áö´Ï¶ó

Do not lie in wait like an outlaw against a righteous man's house, do not raid his dwelling place;

´ëÀú ÀÇÀÎÀº ÀÏ°ö ¹ø ³Ñ¾îÁúÁö¶óµµ ´Ù½Ã ÀϾ·Á´Ï¿Í ¾ÇÀÎÀº Àç¾ÓÀ¸·Î ÀÎÇÏ¿© ¾þµå·¯Áö´À´Ï¶ó

for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again, but the wicked are brought down by calamity.

³× ¿ø¼ö°¡ ³Ñ¾îÁú ¶§¿¡ Áñ°Å¿öÇÏÁö ¸»¸ç ±×°¡ ¾þµå·¯Áú ¶§¿¡ ¸¶À½¿¡ ±â»µÇÏÁö ¸»¶ó

Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when he stumbles, do not let your heart rejoice,

or the LORD will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from him.

³Ê´Â Çà¾ÇÀÚÀÇ µæÀÇÇÔÀ» ÀÎÇÏ¿© ºÐÀ» Ç°Áö ¸»¸ç ¾ÇÀÎÀÇ ÇüÅëÀ» ºÎ·¯¿öÇÏÁö ¸»¶ó

Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of the wicked,

´ëÀú Çà¾ÇÀÚ´Â Àå·¡°¡ ¾ø°Ú°í ¾ÇÀÎÀÇ µîºÒÀº ²¨Áö¸®¶ó

for the evil man has no future hope, and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out.

³» ¾Æµé¾Æ ¿©È£¿Í¿Í ¿ÕÀ» °æ¿ÜÇÏ°í ¹Ý¿ªÀÚ·Î ´õºÒ¾î »ç±ÍÁö ¸»¶ó

Fear the LORD and the king, my son, and do not join with the rebellious,

´ëÀú ±×µéÀÇ Àç¾ÓÀº ¼ÓÈ÷ ÀÓÇϸ®´Ï ÀÌ µÎ ÀÚÀÇ ¸ê¸ÁÀ» ´©°¡ ¾Ë·ª

for those two will send sudden destruction upon them, and who knows what calamities they can bring?

À̰͵µ ÁöÇý·Î¿î ÀÚÀÇ ¸»¾¸À̶ó ÀçÆÇÇÒ ¶§¿¡ ³¸À» º¸¾ÆÁÖ´Â °ÍÀÌ ¿ÇÁö ¸øÇϴ϶ó

These also are sayings of the wise: To show partiality in judging is not good:

¹«¸© ¾ÇÀδõ·¯ ¿Ç´Ù ÇÏ´Â ÀÚ´Â ¹é¼º¿¡°Ô ÀúÁÖ¸¦ ¹ÞÀ» °ÍÀÌ¿ä ±¹¹Î¿¡°Ô ¹Ì¿òÀ» ¹ÞÀ¸·Á´Ï¿Í

Whoever says to the guilty, "You are innocent"--peoples will curse him and nations denounce him.

¿ÀÁ÷ ±×¸¦ °ßÃ¥ÇÏ´Â ÀÚ´Â ±â»ÝÀ» ¾òÀ» °ÍÀÌ¿ä ¶Ç ÁÁÀº º¹À» ¹ÞÀ¸¸®¶ó

But it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come upon them.

Àû´çÇÑ ¸»·Î ´ë´äÇÔÀº ÀÔ¸ÂÃã°ú °°À¸´Ï¶ó

An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.

³× ÀÏÀ» ¹Û¿¡¼­ ´Ù½º¸®¸ç ¹ç¿¡¼­ ¿¹ºñÇÏ°í ±× ÈÄ¿¡ ³× ÁýÀ» ¼¼¿ïÁö´Ï¶ó

Finish your outdoor work and get your fields ready; after that, build your house.

³Ê´Â ±î´ß¾øÀÌ ³× ÀÌ¿ôÀ» Ãļ­ ÁõÀÎÀÌ µÇÁö ¸»¸ç ³× ÀÔ¼ú·Î ¼ÓÀÌÁö ¸»Áö´Ï¶ó

Do not testify against your neighbor without cause, or use your lips to deceive.

³Ê´Â ±×°¡ ³»°Ô ÇàÇÔ °°ÀÌ ³ªµµ ±×¿¡°Ô ÇàÇÏ¿© ±× ÇàÇÑ ´ë·Î °±°Ú´Ù ¸»ÇÏÁö ¸»Áö´Ï¶ó

Do not say, "I'll do to him as he has done to me; I'll pay that man back for what he did."

³»°¡ Áõ¿Õ¿¡ °ÔÀ¸¸¥ ÀÚÀÇ ¹ç°ú ÁöÇý ¾ø´Â ÀÚÀÇ Æ÷µµ¿øÀ» Áö³ª¸ç º»Áï

I went past the field of the sluggard, past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgment;

°¡½Ã´ýºÒÀÌ ÆÛÁ³À¸¸ç °ÅÄ£ Ç®ÀÌ Áö¸é¿¡ µ¤¿´°í µ¹´ãÀÌ ¹«³ÊÁ³±â·Î

thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins.

³»°¡ º¸°í »ý°¢ÀÌ ±í¾ú°í ³»°¡ º¸°í Èư踦 ¹Þ¾Ò¾ú³ë¶ó

I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw:

³×°¡ Á»´õ ÀÚÀÚ, Á»´õ Á¹ÀÚ, ¼ÕÀ» ¸ðÀ¸°í Á»´õ ´¯ÀÚ ÇÏ´Ï ³× ºó±ÃÀÌ °­µµ °°ÀÌ ¿À¸ç

A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest--

³× °ïÇÌÀÌ ±º»ç °°ÀÌ À̸£¸®¶ó

and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.
